FOLSOM – Folsom Mayor Andy Morin announced today that the City Council has selected Northern California native Kerry Miller to serve as city manager. Miller’s selection follows a recruitment process that attracted a number of highly qualified applicants. He is expected to begin work on or before Oct. 15.
Miller has served as city manager for the City of Encinitas in Northern San Diego County for the past seven years. He has 30 years of municipal management experience and 25 years of service as a city manager for three California cities, including Sanger in Fresno County, South Lake Tahoe and Encinitas.
Mayor Morin cited Miller’s seasoned professionalism and facilitation skills as determining factors in the Council’s selection. ‘Mr. Miller possesses the combination of management and interpersonal skills we are looking for in our city manager,’ said Morin. ‘He brings extensive experience in dealing with complex negotiations, team building and strategic planning. We believe he will complement and further develop the already high quality of our staff in striving to provide excellent services to the community.’
Miller noted that in addition to the professional opportunity Folsom presents, moving back to Northern California, and Folsom in particular, will afford him the chance to have more frequent contact with his children and grandchildren, most of who live in the area between San Jose and Reno.
