Alumni member of Take Note Troupe
Aurora Florence, alumni member of Take Note Troupe, the award-winning community youth theater group in Placer County, has landed the role of Eliza Doolittle with a National Broadway Tour beginning this Fall and touring major cities throughout the United States.
Ms. Florence received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Theater Arts this April from Brigham Young University and is looking forward to beginning her acting career with this role with the New York based Big League Productions.
Take Note Troupe was the early training ground for young Aurora as she held many demanding roles in past Shakespearean productions and entertained audiences with her engaging stage presence, her strong singing voice, and her fingers flying on the violin, guitar or mandolin. She competed well each year at the Cedar City Shakespeare Competition during her high school years, culminating in a first place award for her monologue presentation.
This writer first saw Shakespeare’s “As You Like It,” in 2005 with Aurora Florence bringing her talents to the stage as Jacques original TNT edit of this favorite.
TNT’s newest production of “As You Like It” opens this weekend with two special performances benefiting the Auburn State Theater restoration project at 3:00pm and 7:30pm at the State Theater. Tickets are priced at $5 for students and $10 for adults.
There will be a free public show on Saturday, June 4, with an outdoor performance at the Auburn Library Garden Theater at 6pm. Three other free performances will be staged at Royer Park in Roseville on June 9, 10 and 11 at 7pm.
Playgoers are encouraged to come early and bring a blanket, a low-back beach chair and a picnic to enjoy the park surroundings for an idyllic family evening of fun.
