The Placer County Older Adult Advisory Commission has a vacancy for a member to represent the 2nd Board of Supervisors district.
Applications are being accepted from people interested in filling the vacancy. No deadline has been set for submitting applications, but supervisors hope to fill the vacancy soon.
Applicants should live within the 2nd District and be interested in issues that affect older adults.
Generally, the 2nd District is the westernmost part of the county covering Sheridan, Lincoln, most of Rocklin and a portion of West Roseville. Supervisor Robert Weygandt represents the 2nd District.
The district’s boundaries include the Sutter-Placer county line on the west, and the line where Placer County meets Yuba and Nevada counties on the north. The southern boundary runs eastward along Baseline Road and zigzags along the northern edge of Roseville before dipping southeastward to include part of Rocklin located north of Interstate 80. The eastern boundary is a north-south line that runs between Lincoln and Auburn.
The 22-member commission advises the Board of Supervisors and county Health and Human Services Department on matters related to the creation and delivery of services that promote the well-being of older adults and their quality of life.
The commission normally meets from 1 to 3 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month in the Beecher Room at the Auburn Library, 350 Nevada St. The commission also holds quarterly meetings in Loomis when possible.
