Auburn, Calif. – With his own style of low-key humor and humility, Edward J. Tiedemann on Thursday (Mar. 5) accepted the accolades of the Board of Directors of the Placer County Water Agency and his colleagues who saluted him for 50 years of service to the water agency.
Tiedemann, 80, has been associated with PCWA since February 1959. He was involved in the agency’s formation of the Middle Fork American River Project while serving as assistant county executive for the County of Placer. Then in July 1962, he was appointed by the Board as agency legal counsel.
Members of the PCWA board and staff, former board and community leaders commented on Tiedemann’s steady leadership and counsel in PCWA’s progress over the past half century.
Some of his partners in the Sacramento law firm of Kronick, Moskovitz, Tiedemann & Girard, in which he is a principal and senior attorney, were present. Company president P. Addison Covert and attorney Janet Goldsmith offered remarks as part of the ceremony, which was attended by agency employees and community leaders along with Tiedemann family members.
In his remarks, Tiedemann urged those present to be vigilant in protecting Placer County’s water supplies for future generations. ‘There are still people out there who want your water,’ he said. ‘The agency was established to protect, develop and use our County’s area-of-origin water resources.’
Tiedemann says he still enjoys going to work each day and serving the agency these fifty years.
