Roseville, CA- The Sullivan Auto Group and MPOWER flipped the switch on the largest PACE energy efficiency retrofit and solar photovoltaic installation project in the Sacramento region at two dealerships in Roseville: the John L Sullivan Chevrolet Dealership and the Roseville Toyota & Truck Center Dealership.
Over the next 25 years, the energy savings and generation will cover the cost of the improvements and provide an additional $2.9 million in energy savings.
“We are inspired by the emerging energy efficient technologies, not just within the automotive industry but also with commercial energy-savings technologies that allow our businesses to reduce their consumption and carbon footprint,” said John L. Sullivan, owner of several dealerships in Northern California.
On Nov. 10, 2016, The Sullivan Auto Group celebrated the project completion with representatives from Placer County and its MPOWER Program, local businesses and associations, and the City of Roseville.
The John L Sullivan Chevrolet Dealership energy improvements include interior and exterior LED light installation, new high-efficiency HVAC units, a cool roof and a solar system. The cost of improvements will amount to a little over $2 million. The Roseville Toyota & Truck Center Dealership energy improvements include interior and exterior LED lighting installation, new high-efficiency HVAC units, a cool roof, and a solar photovoltaic system. The cost of improvements will amount to almost $3.7 million. The savings generated are pictured above.
“The Sullivan Auto Group projects demonstrate the outstanding level of savings, energy conservation and environmental benefit to Placer County that can be achieved when business and government work together for a common goal,” said Jenine Windeshausen, Placer County Treasurer-Tax Collector and MPOWER Program Administrator.
The MPOWER program provides financing for energy and water conservation projects, which is then repaid through an assessment on the property tax bill. MPOWER, a property assessed clean energy program, has funded more than $57 million in energy efficiency and water conservation projects for both residential and non-residential property owners in Placer County.
