Auburn, Calif. – Placer County Water Agency has appointed Ross Branch as Public Affairs Manager. In the newly created position, Branch will serve as an advocate on legislative and regulatory issues affecting the agency. He will also serve as PCWA’s primary media contact and public outreach representative.
“As we enter our fourth year of drought, Ross will play a critical role in preparing our water conservation communication plan,” PCWA General Manager, Einar Maisch said. “His extensive governmental affairs experience will help ensure that PCWA customers continue to be well represented on regional and state-wide issues.”
Branch comes to PCWA after serving as a Public Information Officer and Policy Analyst for El Dorado County. His experience also includes over four years as a Field Representative for Congressman Tom McClintock, where he served nine California foothill counties on various legislative issues; a stint with U.S. Department of Justice, serving as a Legal Assistant in the Environment and Natural Resources Division; and, serving as a clerk for the U.S House of Representatives Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources.

Branch is a California native and has lived in the region since 2008. He received his B.A. in American Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park with a focus in Political Science and U.S. History.
