William Jessup’s New MBA Dean: Dr. Steve Strombeck

Rocklin, Calif. – William Jessup University, the Sacramento area’s only residential four-year private university recently  announced that Dr. Steve Strombeck has been named Dean of the Masters of Business Administration degree program.

Before arriving at William Jessup, Dr. Strombeck was the Interim Dean and MBA Director of the Robert K. Jabs School of Business at California Baptist University. He has been teaching in higher education for the past 17 years.

“His experience, expertise, and leadership qualities will be a tremendous asset to the university,” said Dr. John Jackson, President of William Jessup University. “Dr. Strombeck has outstanding credentials and brings great perspective to our program since he has worked at universities in the U.S. and internationally, and served as a business consultant for several major companies.”

At California Baptist, he was responsible for developing and deploying the annual strategic and operational plans for the business school, managing and coordinating the undergraduate and graduate curriculums, and hiring, training and managing all faculty and staff personnel.

Dr. Strombeck also organized and managed all school of business events, resolved faculty and student issues, and structured the undergraduate and graduate course offerings. His external responsibilities included establishing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and maintaining school practices to ensure the university’s compliance with its accreditors’ standards.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the team at William Jessup University. I’ve been interested in working at Jessup since the university relocated from San Jose to Rocklin in 2004,” Dr. Strombeck said. “God has opened a door to serve side-by-side with some of the finest Christian faculty in the country.”

In the past two decades, he has worked at two universities in Taiwan (National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology; I-Shou University), one in South Korea (Handong University), and three in the U.S. (California Baptist University, Azusa Pacific University and Union University).

Since 2000, Dr. Strombeck has been organizing, and leading study abroad programs for business school students.

Meeting the needs of leaders looking to enhance their managerial and business knowledge skill sets, William Jessup’s MBA program equips graduates to be highly competent, principled, innovative leaders in business and society.

The new MBA offering allows students to quickly accelerate career opportunities while obtaining a broad spectrum of skills and expertise with ethical foundations geared toward making decisions based upon principled decisions and frameworks.

Dr. Strombeck holds a B.A. in Economics and Business from Westmont College, an MBA with a concentration in international business from Pepperdine University, and a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Mississippi.
