An alert Rocklin Police Officer spotted three suspicious acting male juveniles at Save Mart at 3021 Stanford Ranch Rd. and a subsequent investigation linked two of them to recent graffiti throughout the city.
On Friday night, November 6th, at 10:30 PM, after the Del Oro High School vs. Rocklin High School football game, a Rocklin Police Officer saw the three 14 year olds in the back of the market. There was fresh tagging in the immediate vicinity. The officer contacted the three and developed information that two of them were responsible for tagging in different areas of the city including areas on Park Drive and in the Johnson-Springview Park area.

The two juveniles were cited for vandalism (594 of the Penal Code) and possession of instruments of graffiti. They were released to their parents. They will be required to appear in Juvenile Court on a future date.
Rocklin Police want to ensure that parents and youths are familiar with section 13202.6 of the Vehicle Code:
Vehicle Code Section 13202.6(a)(1) states, in part, that for every conviction of a person for a violation of Section 594, 594.3, or 594.4 of the Penal Code, committed while the person was 13 years of age or older, the court shall suspend the person’s driving privilege for not more than two years … If the person convicted does not yet have the privilege to drive, the court shall order the department to delay issuing the privilege to drive for not less than one year nor more than three years subsequent to the time the person becomes legally eligible to drive.
