William Jessup University Announces Largest Graduating Class

2018 Graduation and Commencement Speaker

Rocklin,Calif. – William Jessup University, the first WASC accredited private, four-year residential Christian university in the greater Sacramento region will celebrate its 77th annual Commencement Saturday, April 28 from 10 a.m. to noon at Bayside Church, Adventure Campus in Roseville. This is the growing university’s largest graduating class to date.

“We look forward to the impact our graduates are going to make as they transition from our university setting,” said Dr. John Jackson, president of the growing university. “Our students are equipped and ready to impact the world for the glory of God in the local church, the marketplace, at home, in our communities, locally and globally.”

Approximately 425 students are graduating this April with the majority of graduates receiving business, psychology, teacher education, science and ministry related bachelor degrees.

This year marks the thirteenth graduation ceremony celebrated by the 79-year-old university since its move to Rocklin in 2004.

Commencement speaker is Bishop Parnell M. Lovelace, Jr., Founding Pastor of the Center of Praise Ministries in Sacramento, Calif. where he has pastored for over 25 years. A visionary leader, Bishop Lovelace has a passion for ministering the Word of God in a clear, provocative, revelatory manner that is well received by all generations and cultural groups. As an apostolic strategist, communicator, teacher, thinker and progressive leader, Lovelace has had the opportunity to interface with multiple professional genres that forged his course in the role of advocate. He is a sought-after voice and counsel within the church and civic community and has been the recipient of various awards, commendations and recognitions.

The annual senior family dinner and baccalaureate service is planned for Friday, April 27 to honor Jessup’s graduates as they matriculate into various ministry fields and the marketplace. Students and their families will gather in the Warrior Arena to enjoy a barbecue buffet dinner and program prior to the baccalaureate service.

William Jessup University offers nearly 60 degree and certificate programs with a student-faculty ratio of 13:1 and average class sizes of 23. The university also offers career and life planning services to aid graduates throughout their personal job search.
