Roseville, Calif.- The man fatally shot at a residence on Sierra Gardens Drive Tuesday evening has been identified as Charles David Williams, age 40, date of birth 07/22/1966, of Roseville.
The female resident reported that when she came home at approximately 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, she discovered an unknown intruder, now identified as Williams, inside her residence. A struggle ensued and the resident, an off-duty law enforcement officer, shot Williams. Roseville Police and Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced Williams dead at the scene.
It is unknown why Williams originally entered the residence. There is no information at this time to suggest that he had ever met the female resident prior to the attack.
The Roseville Police Department Investigations Unit is continuing to investigate the incident.
