Roseville, Calif.- Three people were arrested at motels in Auburn and Roseville early this morning, where they were operating a large-scale identity-theft ring and selling drugs.
Placer County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Cassie Delmugnaio, 36, of Sacramento, and Kristina Downs, 25, of Auburn, at the Quality Inn on Lincoln Way in Auburn. In the room, deputies found numerous items belonging to others; credit cards, “green dot” cards, cell phones, Social Security numbers, tax returns and mail. They also found a computer printer and other items used to manufacture fictitious checks. Downs was in possession of drugs. Both suspects also had warrants.
Information obtained there led detectives to the Fairfield Inn in Roseville. There, a Placer County detective, with the assistance of Roseville Police officers, found and arrested Joseph Theodore Sisk, 37, a transient. He had a substantial amount of suspected meth and indication of drug sales. He was in possession of computers and a large amount of items related to identity theft. Sisk also had outstanding warrants for his arrest. A joint investigation with the Roseville Police Dept. is ongoing.
All three suspects were booked at the Placer County Jail in Auburn on a variety of charges. Sisk’s bail is set at $355,000; Delmugnaio’s bail is set at $35,500; and Downs’ is set at $30,000.
Detectives are continuing their investigation and will contact potential victims.
