At 9 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, the Roseville Police and Fire Departments responded to a collision between a bicycle and a 2007 Hyundai sedan on Atkinson Street at Denio Loop.
The bicyclist, a Roseville resident in his 20s, was taken to Sutter Roseville Medical Center. He suffered serious injuries, but is expected to survive. The Hyundai driver, Charles Martin Pollex, 49, of Roseville, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. He is currently being held in the Roseville City Jail on $30,000 bail.
Atkinson Street was closed for approximately three and a half hours while the collision was being investigated, but is now open. The collision is being investigated by the Roseville Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team.
