Over the past few days, the Roseville Police Department has received reports of a male stranger approaching school children in the afternoon after school, offering a child a ride, or trying to get a child to approach his vehicle.
Three incidents were reported in the West Park area near Junction Elementary School, and one incident was reported near Thomas Jefferson School on Central Park Drive.
Both girls and boys have reported being approached. The descriptions of the suspicious male and his vehicle vary. In some reports, the vehicle was described as a white sedan; in others, as a white or aqua-colored van. The suspicious male is consistently described as a white male, but descriptions of his age, clothing and hair style has varied widely. We don’t know if the various reports are connected.
We encourage residents to be watchful and observant, to report any and all suspicious incidents to police immediately.
