Rocky Rockholm was sworn in today as a Placer County Supervisor, vacating his seat on the Roseville City Council.
His term representing District 1, which encompasses West Roseville and unincorporated county lands, will be four years.

Rockholm’s departure leaves a vacancy on the five-seat City Council; applications for that position are being processed and the slot is expected to be filled in time for the Council’s special meeting this Wednesday.
‘It’s been a privilege to serve on the City Council and as Mayor, and in the process become intimately familiar with the needs and concerns of Roseville residents,’ Rockholm said. ‘Now, as a member of the Board of Supervisors, I’ll have the opportunity to serve Placer County while still representing Roseville’s First District. It is truly the best of both worlds.’
Rockholm was elected to Council in 2000 and 2004, earning the most votes in both contests, and served twice as Roseville’s mayor. He attained the rank of Sergeant in the Roseville Police Department before retiring in 1996, and served on the City Planning Commission from 1999-2000.
Roseville City Manager Craig Robinson said that Rockholm ‘provided valuable leadership and vision’ while serving on a council that presided over increasingly complex management issues in the City.
‘Rocky cared deeply about Roseville and served its residents well,’ Robinson said.
The Roseville City Council will also select a new mayor to succeed Rockholm at its Jan. 10 special meeting after a replacement for Rockholm has been selected.
