Roseville Alnwick Drive Murders-Suicide Update

Roseville Police detectives are continuing their investigation into last night’s shooting at a home in the 1600 block of Alnwick Drive in west Roseville. The incident appears to have been a double homicide-suicide.  Investigators believe that the shooter is one of the three deceased persons, and that there are no other suspects at large.

At 8:57 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, a 16-year-old male called the Roseville Police Department to report that a male armed with a handgun had forced entry into his home, and that he believed the male had shot his parents. Officers surrounded the residence, and after unsuccessful attempts to make contact with anyone inside, made entry at about 1:40 a.m.  Officers discovered three deceased people inside an upstairs bedroom: the boy’s 49-year old mother, his 52-year-old father, and a 35-year-old male, whom detectives believe was the shooter.

The Placer County Coroner’s Office will conduct autopsies for the three deceased beginning Thursday morning.  Roseville Police Department’s crime scene investigation team is at the residence today, collecting evidence. Streets in the immediate vicinity of the house will remain closed during this process.  The names of the deceased are not being released at this time, pending further investigation and notification of family members.
