Roseville, Calif. – Â The Roseville City School District Board of Education voted unanimously to name its newest school Orchard Ranch Elementary, honoring local families who brought an abundance of farming and agriculture to the community, which is deeply rooted in the city’s history.
The District accepted naming submissions from the public for the TK-5 school located in the Westpark community. During the six-week submission period, the district received 13 suggestions that varied from local educators and elected officials to historical figures and Roseville landmarks.
“Naming a school is an important and rewarding experience for a district and its board,” says Board President Gary Miller. “We look forward to having thousands of students and future generations learn an appreciation of our city’s diverse history at Orchard Ranch.”
Constructed by Roebbelen Construction, Orchard Ranch Elementary is located west of Westbrook Boulevard and north of Pleasant Grove Boulevard, at 4375 Brookstone Drive and will open in the fall of 2017.
The school will accommodate 6oo students at full capacity. Fiddyment Farm Elementary was the most recent school built in the district, which opened in 2013. At that time, it opened with 263 and now has more than 650 students.
The next school planned for the district is known by its specific plan parcel reference F-71 and will be constructed in the Fiddyment Farm community near the future intersection of Hayden Parkway and Holt Parkway.
