Roseville School receives IB World School Designation

Roseville, Calif. – Eich Middle School recently announced they have earned the designation as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. After a four-year rigorous process consisting of staff trainings, on-site visits and reviews, they will transition from “candidate” status to a bona fide IB World School, offering the IB Middle Year Programme to each and every student on campus.

Eich Middle School is the only stand-alone public middle school in Placer County with the IB World School status, making this designation ever more noteworthy. An IB education is unique because of its demanding academic and personal standards. In the IB environment, students strive to be inquirers, thinkers, principled and reflective.

The IB has a positive impact on students, schools and their wider communities with learning going well beyond the classroom. Students are able to participate in international conferences and educators work with their peers internationally to ensure that the IB remains at the cutting edge of international education.

“We wanted to offer our students a more holistic education which will instil the skills, knowledge and outlook to succeed in the 21st century,” says Principal Marc Buljan.  “At the same time, we wanted give our teachers the opportunity to be a part of an international network of experts leading the field in education. We are delighted to become an IB World School and we look forward to reaping the many benefits of the program.”

The IB is recognized across the world for its innovative approach to education and its philosophy of placing an equal focus on academics and other transferrable skills, in order to best prepare students for success beyond school.
