At approximately 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, December 12, a resident of a condominium complex in the 1400 block of Kingswood Drive woke up to the sound of car alarms. He looked outside and saw that his own car and another vehicle had been broken into. He then called Roseville Police. Officers responded and checked the complex, as well as another nearby apartment complex on Marcia Way. Officers found one suspect, Marshall McMurray, trying car door handles in the parking lot of Marcia Way. A second suspect, Andrew Herring, was found hiding in the front seat of a Mercedes sedan in the same lot. Officers searched the Mercedes and seized suspected stolen property, including car stereos and components, and cases of music CDs.
Nine vehicles in the two apartment complexes were found burglarized. Several victims were able to identify their stolen property from among the items seized from the Mercedes.
Two Sacramento men, Andrew Decarlos Herring Jr., 35, and Marshall Keith McMurray Jr., 21, were arrested on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy and possession of stolen property. Herring was also arrested on a Sacramento warrant charging inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant. He was released after posting a $25,000 bail bond. McMurray is in custody in the Roseville City Jail on $20,000 bail.
