On the morning of June 10, units from the City of Roseville Fire Department were dispatched to a house fire located on the 1600 block of Soledad Drive in Roseville. Upon arrival at the single-story, single-family residence, fire personnel reported a fire on the exterior of the home that had extended into the attic. Fire spread to a nearby fence and structure where an aggressive fire attack was mounted after first ensuring that all occupants of the homes had safely exited.
Battalion Chief Jeff Carman requested a second alarm assignment while responding to the fire due to the danger that could result from high winds.Â
Eight engines, two trucks, and eight miscellaneous resources responded to the fire. The fire was quickly contained leaving one of the homes with moderate fire damage throughout the attic and on the northeast corner of the home. The second home has moderate fire damage on the exterior only.
The homes are not destroyed because of quick acting neighbors stretching lawn hoses to the fire and protecting the exterior of the homes. A City of Roseville Water Department employee has a minor burn injury from helping the neighbors put out the fire. A 12-year-old boy, left at home during this incident, saved nine puppies while exiting the house safely.
