Roseville,Calif.- PRIDE Industries, a leading employer of people with disabilities, recently donated seven (7) wheelchair-accessible buses to a variety of organizations and entities providing services to people with disabilities, children and the elderly. The donations were made possible as PRIDE cycled out the vehicles to accommodate new transportation equipment. Â
Recipients of the donated buses include the Fairfield-Suisun Twilight Rotary Club and the Apostolic Church of Yuba City. Two buses were also donated to the Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento to transport children to various programs and functions.
'We very much appreciate the generous contribution of two vans from PRIDE Industries,' said David Ballard, CEO of the Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento. 'The addition of these vehicles to our fleet means we are now able to transport kids to off-grounds activities more frequently, and all as one group, which we could not do before. This is a great boost to the programs of the Receiving Home and we are so pleased to be able to have friends such as PRIDE to help us accomplish this.'
'All donated vehicles are in good operating order and are being cleared to make way for newer vehicles,' said Mauro Lara, PRIDE Industries' Vice President of Operations.
'We are happy to donate these buses in order to extend much needed transportation services to underserved populations.'
