Steven Rudolph Appointed Rocklin’s City Manager

New City Manager was Former City Attorney

Rocklin, Calif.- The Rocklin City Council on May 8 voted unanimously to appoint Steven P. Rudolph as Rocklin’s next city manager. Rudolph’s contact runs through June 30, 2023 and includes a base salary of $228,000, which is comparable to city manager salaries in the region. The complete benefits package can be found at rocklin.ca.us.

“Steve Rudolph has shown exceptional skills and knowledge in his role as city attorney and Rocklin is fortunate to have him take the helm as the next city manager,” said Mayor Ken Broadway. “Rudolph is already deeply involved in Rocklin’s most important business and the entire Council is more than confident he will step in and continue to build on the success Rocklin has experienced over the past seven years.”

Rudolph was hired as Rocklin’s city attorney in February 2017. He served as the interim City Manager for the City of Galt in 2015 and has over 25 years of experience serving as city attorney, general counsel, and special counsel for public agencies, including the Cities of Galt, Folsom, Vallejo, and Woodland, and the County of Sacramento.

“I’m honored to be chosen as Rocklin’s next city manager and I look forward to working with Council and staff to continue to provide top-notch services to residents and businesses,” Rudolph said. “We’re doing great things in Rocklin and I would personally like to thank City Council and Rick Horst for creating a foundation for sustained prosperity and growth.”

Former Rocklin City Manager Rick Horst recently submitted his resignation, and will continue to share his unique insights and knowledge in a consulting role until June 22.
