Temblor Felt around South Placer County
Roseville, Calif. – A 2.8 earthquake centered 3km outside of Granite Bay rattled residents just after 6:35 PM on April 28, 2026.
The quake struck at a depth of 4.3 km. Shallow quakes tend to cause more intense shaking and potential damage near the epicenter. The California Office of Emergency Service currently has no reports of serious damage or injuries.
Smaller aftershocks are expected to continue in and around the area.
Granite Bay is located approximately 5-8 miles from of downtown Roseville and 26 miles from Sacramento.
