KidsFirst Hosts 20th Annual “Putting Kids First” Awards Luncheon

Luncheon to recognize individuals serving Placer County children and families

Roseville, Calif. – KidsFirst, a Placer County nonprofit dedicated to treating and preventing child abuse and neglect, is hosting its 20th Annual Putting Kids First Awards Luncheon on Friday, April 6, 2018. The event will bring together community and business leaders from across the region for an inspiring afternoon honoring Placer County’s leading advocates for children and families. This event kicks off a full month of events to commemorate April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.

“This is my favorite time of the year,” commented KidsFirst Executive Director, Barbara Besana. “Our community comes together to acknowledge the importance of strong, healthy families and celebrates the incredible work and support of those who go above and beyond to always put kids first.”

Program features include the presentation of the Edward Bonner & Brooke Allison Lifetime Achievement Awards to Mia Behrens, Placer County resident and child abuse survivor and Ruth Burgess, Roseville Rotarian. Other notable event highlights include recognition of several community-nominated honorees and networking opportunities with individuals committed to the welfare of local children and families.

The luncheon will take place at the Timber Creek Ballroom in Roseville on Friday, April 6, 2018. Registration and networking is set to begin at 10:30 a.m. and the program will conclude with lunch and awards at 1 p.m. General admission ticket sales run now through April 6 and discounted rates are available for couple registrants. Tickets can be purchased at kidsfirstluncheon.eventbrite.com.
Those interested in sponsoring the event are urged to contact Dianne Ancona at [email protected] for information. Benefits are varied, and levels range from $250 – $10,000.

Luncheon proceeds will benefit KidsFirst’s no-cost programs and services to support local children and families including parenting classes, support groups, after-school enrichment, therapy, counseling and healthcare enrollment assistance. In 2017, KidsFirst served nearly 6,000 Placer County children, parents and caregivers in need.
