September 8 lemonade stand fundraiser will help Sierra College student Noah Whitaker replace his wheelchair-accessible van and regain his independence
Roseville, Calif. – When 20-year-old Sierra College student Noah Whitaker's wheelchair-accessible van recently broke down, it put more than transportation on hold. It jeopardized his ability to get to medical appointments, many of them in the Bay Area, as well as school and everyday activities.
On September 8, the Roseville community will come together for "Let's Get Noah a Van," a daylong lemonade stand fundraiser at Rooftop Macarons in the Nugget Shopping Center. The event is being organized by Roseville Mayor Krista Bernasconi with community partners and supporters coming together to help Noah replace his van and regain his independence.

The fundraiser will feature lemonade, raffles, giveaways and concert ticket prizes, thanks to 98 Rock, with all proceeds going toward an accessible van for Noah.
"This is who Roseville is," said Mayor Bernasconi. "When one of our own needs help, we don't wait for someone else to step up. We come together and get it done. I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who is helping make this possible, including Rooftop Macarons for donating the lemonade. I can't wait to see this community turn out for Noah."
For Noah, the van is much more than a vehicle.
"That van is my independence. It gets me to my doctors and helps me live my life," said Whitaker. "I'm blown away that this many people would show up for me, and I want to thank every single one."
The September 8 fundraiser will also include a special appearance by John Adams, who, at age 7, attempted to sell lemonade at Ozzfest 2000 but didn't sell a single cup. Twenty-six years later, Adams is returning to finish what he started – this time helping raise money for Noah.
Every dollar raised will go toward replacing Noah's accessible van and restoring his ability to get to school, medical care and the activities that help him live independently.
Community members who are unable to attend can support Noah through his online fundraiser.
