Yolanda Perez Fryson, a Yuba County Child Protective Services worker was arrested by Placer County Sheriff’s detectives Thursday night for extortion, accepting a bribe as a public official and possession of stolen property.
Yolanda Perez Fryson, 41, was taken into custody in Rocklin around 5 p.m., immediately after she took a $10,000 bribe while unbeknownst to her, detectives were watching.
Fryson had been on administrative leave from her job as a case agent since June, 2008. While on leave, she contacted a Placer County man and told him he was suspected of sexual and physical abuse. Fryson told the man she could make the charges go away.
The victim immediately contacted Yuba County officials, who contacted the Placer County Sheriff’s Department and cooperated fully in the investigation. A meeting was set up between Fryson and the victim in Rocklin Thursday. As soon as she accepted the bribe, detectives moved in and arrested her without incident.
In 2005, Fryson reported that her badge was either lost or stolen. When the badge was found in a search of her home following the arrest last night, she was additionally charged with possession of stolen property.
