Bryan Whitemyer appointed Folsom City Manager

Joins Folsom from the City of Oakdale

Folsom, Calif.- The Folsom City Council announced that Bryan Whitemyer has been appointed as Folsom’s new City Manager. Following an extensive search process, the Council voted unanimously to approve this appointment at its open session meeting on Tuesday, January 14.

Whitemyer joins Folsom from the City of Oakdale, where he has served as City Manager since 2013. During his tenure, he developed a comprehensive plan that enabled the city to improve its financial stability, invest in downtown improvements, construct critical infrastructure, and enhance public safety operations.

“On behalf of the Folsom City Council and the entire community, I am thrilled to welcome Bryan Whitemyer as Folsom’s new City Manager,” said Mayor Sarah Aquino.  “Bryan brings a wealth of experience, extensive financial background, a strong commitment to public service, and a deep appreciation for the values that make Folsom such a special place. I am confident that our city will continue to grow and thrive under his leadership.”

“I am honored to have been selected as Folsom’s City Manager and am eager to serve this wonderful city,” said Whitemyer. “This is a community known for its rich history, vibrant neighborhoods, and strong sense of civic pride. I look forward to working alongside the dedicated residents, businesses, City Council, and city staff to continue moving the city forward. Together, we’ll build on what makes Folsom a great place to live and make sure it stays that way for years to come.”

With over 23 years of municipal government experience, including 14 years as a City Manager, Whitemyer has successfully served large and small cities. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from California State University, Stanislaus.

Whitemyer plans to move his family to Folsom and will officially assume his role as City Manager on March 10.
