Rocklin, Calif. – During a special meeting on September 14, the City Council interviewed nineteen candidates who applied to fill the open seat. The interview process, including Council discussion and deliberation, was open to the public.Â
Broadway is also seeking a four-year Rocklin City Council term during the November election. If elected, he would resign the current two-year appointment (the remainder of Diana Ruslin's term), and accept the full four-year elected term.
"We are pleased to have Ken on the Council", stated Mayor Greg Janda. "His long history of community involvement in Rocklin gives him a unique and valuable perspective. Ken's deep understanding of municipal issues will be a great asset."
Broadway has lived in Rocklin for eighteen years. His community leadership experience includes serving as the Community Representative for the Rocklin Public Safety Foundation, secretary for the Rocklin Educational Excellence Foundation, President of the Rocklin Girls Fast Pitch Softball League, as well as serving on the Rocklin Parks and Recreation Commission and the Rocklin Planning Commission.
Broadway is also a graduate of the Rocklin Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Rocklin program, and he now participates as a member of the steering committee for that program, as well as having served as an honorary Chamber of Commerce board member.
Broadway has worked for United Parcel Service (UPS) since 1986, and he is currently a Corporate Pricing Manager. He holds bachelor degrees in Business Administration and Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada, Reno and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Phoenix.

Broadway is scheduled to be formally sworn in during the City Council meeting on September 27, 2016.
