Roseville Sports Complex Moves Ahead

Roseville, Calif. – Placer Valley Sports Complex Inc. has announced a preconstruction team for development of its new, state-of-the-art Regional Sports Complex in Roseville. The organization announced today the hiring of Roebbelen Contracting Inc. to begin the feasibility process for the current project design.

“We are thrilled to be selected as the general contractor for this exciting and essential project for our region,” said Bob Kjome, Executive Vice President of Roebbelen Contracting Inc.  “We have teamed with OC Jones & Sons Inc. for the site work grading and Valley Crest Landscape for landscape and irrigation. We believe the joint experience in creating similar projects and our familiarity with Placer County will ensure that we can come together to create a world-class complex.”

In the preconstruction phase of the project, Roebbelen Contracting, OC Jones & Sons and Valley Crest Landscape will work with architecture firm LPA Inc. on estimating, value engineering, scheduling, phasing analysis, constructability review, and site logistics planning to ensure the complex meets budget.

The complex, set to open in early 2018, will feature 10 artificial multi-use sports fields for a variety of amateur sports, including lacrosse, soccer, football, rugby, Ultimate Frisbee and other long field-specific sports teams. The complex will cater primarily to youth sports leagues.

Roebbelen Contracting of El Dorado Hills will serve as the primary preconstruction contractor while Valley Crest of Sacramento will offer expertise in landscape design and Berkeley-based OC Jones will lend expertise in grading.

“Each of these companies alone is qualified to do much of the preconstruction work needed to make this complex viable. Together, they give us a greater chance to ensure shovels hit the ground on time and on budget,” said Placer Valley Tourism CEO David Attaway. “We are excited to begin the process in an effort to reach our opening target of 2018.”

Roebbelen Contracting, founded in 1959 in Sacramento, has completed more than 45 recreation facility projects, including several award-winning facilities. Sacramento-area sports field projects include Antelope High School in Antelope, Vista Del Lago High School in Folsom, Whitney High School in Rocklin, Fosket Ranch Regional Park in Lincoln and Mather Sports Park in Sacramento.

With estimated annual hotel stays of 25,000 and a direct annual economic impact between $8 million and $12 million for lodging, transportation, retail, restaurants and entertainment for Roseville, Rocklin and Lincoln, the Regional Sports Complex will generate a significant boost in sales and job opportunities for Placer County.

In 2015, Placer Valley Sports Complex announced the hiring of LPA. to design the complex and Griffin Structures and Coastal Partners LLC to serve as co-project and construction managers.
