Biking Roseville: Trails, Bike Lockers, and Downtown Adventures

Recreation Opportunities Around Downtown Roseville

Roseville, Calif. – Looking for a new outdoor adventure close to home? Perhaps one that includes entertainment and dining? Add in affordability, and you have a stellar combination.

Downtown Roseville is the starting and ending point for this grand adventure. Let’s go Biking Roseville!

Bike Lockers

Downtown Roseville is continuously improving, and each visit reveals something new and fun to discover. The best way to explore is by leaving the car behind. The city offers both convenient on-street parking and large garages. For cyclists, Roseville provides economical bike lockers to secure your ride. Download the BikeLink app to get started.

Four bike lockers are available at the Oak Street Parking Garage, with a rental rate of just $0.05 per hour. They accept the BikeLink Card and the BikeLink App.

Starting Points

Choosing your start point may depend on whether you’re going solo or with friends. We opted for the lower level of one of the city’s free parking garages to unload our bikes, cross the street, and begin.

Royer Park and the Downtown Library also provide excellent, less crowded starting points. If you live near Miners Ravine Trail or the Saugstad/Royer Park Trail, there are plenty of easy access points that allow you to enjoy the day completely car-free.

Royer Park Trail Adventure

The Royer Park Trail is located directly behind City Hall and offers access to miles of paved paths, parks, and some dirt trails for those seeking a little off-road exploration. Head toward the Reuben E. Nelson Bridge for scenic views before connecting to Miners Ravine Trail.

Here, the journey continues eastward toward Sierra College Blvd., just north of Bayside Church. Along the way, you’ll find opportunities to visit the popular Sculpture Park, John Piches Park, and even cross a segment modeled after San Francisco’s world-famous Golden Gate Bridge.

If you manage the small elevation gains along the way and make it to Sierra College Blvd., you’ll be rewarded on the return trip to Downtown Roseville with some fun downhill coasting opportunities—note: pedestrians walk on the left, cyclists ride on the right.

Spend the Day

Once your ride is complete, spend a little time recuperating under the cool shade trees or creekside at Royer Park. Then secure your bike and head to one of the local eateries for a bite and a cold brew. Recent changes in Downtown Roseville provide visitors with great options for scrumptious food and quenching your thirst.

After grabbing a bite, consider exploring Downtown Roseville on foot. Shops, an art gallery, a library, and a museum are all nearby. Bonus: there’s even a bike shop downtown at Mike’s Bikes.

Roseville is a fun biking city in Northern California, and the downtown area offers riders a perfect opportunity to explore!

15 Miles of Fun…and growing!

This route and its connecting trails provide up to 15 miles of biking enjoyment, with a mix of paved paths, scenic parks, and gentle hills to keep the adventure interesting.
