Roseville City School District Foundation Awards $42,000 for Music Education and PIE Grants

Grants back hands-on learning, creativity, and enrichment opportunities

Roseville, Calif. – The Roseville City School District Foundation announced Thursday that it has awarded a total of $42,000 to the Roseville City School District to support music education and fund this year's Partners in Education (PIE) classroom grants.

The Foundation received a record 34 PIE grant applications from certificated and classified staff across the district and will fund 24 proposals that strengthen hands-on learning, creativity and enrichment for students. Funded projects span science, literacy, wellness, technology and the arts.

The annual grant total includes the Foundation's ongoing commitment of at least $17,000 each year to expand and strengthen music education across RCSD. This sustained support helps students explore performance, rhythm and musical expression.

Community support essential

As applications continue to grow, the Foundation is calling on families, organizations and the community to help close the funding gap. Additional support would allow more staff to bring forward creative, hands-on learning experiences that benefit students across all 22 schools.

"We are proud to invest in ideas that spark curiosity and keep students engaged," said Lou Catalano, board president of the Roseville City School District Foundation. "When teachers bring forward thoughtful projects that make learning come alive, our role is to help carry those ideas over the finish line. Community support is vital in helping us fund even more of these outstanding proposals."

The Foundation raises funds at its annual Golf Tournament fundraiser, planned for May 18, 2025, and throughout the year to support classroom innovation, music programs and other student-centered initiatives. Community giving plays a key role in making these grants possible each year.
