Selected for passion, insight, and collaborative approach
Lincoln, Calif. – The Board of Directors for Lighthouse Counseling & Family Resource Center is proud to announce the appointment of Ann Elias as the organization’s new Executive Director, effective May 15, 2025.
Elias, who currently serves as Deputy Director, will succeed Gary McDonald, who has accepted the Executive Director position at Stand Up Placer, another vital nonprofit in Placer County focused on supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
“Ann stood out in every way during the interview process,” said Juliette Robertson, Board Chair of Lighthouse. “She brings a deep understanding of our mission, strong operational expertise, and a sincere commitment to our clients, staff, and community. Her passion, insight, and collaborative approach made it clear that she is the right person to lead Lighthouse into its next chapter.”
Leadership style
Elias has held leadership roles at Lighthouse, first as Director of Operations and most recently as Deputy Director. She has been instrumental in expanding Lighthouse’s impact, guiding programs that support families in crisis, and strengthening partnerships across Placer County. Her leadership style is marked by empathy, strategic thinking, and a tireless dedication to helping others.
Outgoing Executive Director Gary McDonald expressed full confidence in the transition. “It’s been an honor to lead Lighthouse through a decade of growth and transformation. Ann is a remarkable leader with a clear vision and a deep connection to our mission. I have no doubt she will continue to elevate the organization and the people it serves.”
Lighthouse Counseling & Family Resource Center offers counseling, family support, and crisis intervention services, helping individuals and families build healthier, more resilient lives. Under McDonald’s leadership, the organization expanded its reach, enhanced service delivery, and deepened its roots in the local community.
