Roseville Welcomes Giving Machines to Support Salvation Army and Nonprofits

Turn a holiday shopping trip into a moment of compassion for neighbors in need

Roseville, Calif. – This holiday season, The Salvation Army invites the community to experience a new, meaningful way to give back.

In partnership with The Giving Machine, The Salvation Army is honored to be one of seven philanthropic organizations making it easier than ever to help individuals and families in need across the Sacramento and Roseville area, as well as worldwide.

From November 17th through December 8th, 2025, visitors to the Westfield Galleria at Roseville (1151 Galleria Blvd, Roseville, CA 95678) can stop by The Giving Machine, vending machines with a charitable twist. Located on the first floor near Coach and Gucci, these machines allow shoppers to make instant donations that provide real goods and services to local nonprofit organizations, including The Salvation Army.

Act of kindness

Rather than purchasing something for yourself, you can purchase an act of kindness, such as meals for the hungry, blankets for the homeless, or support for families in crisis. Each contribution goes directly to those in need, making generosity both simple and impactful.

“The Giving Machines are a unique, fun, and memorable way to perform an instant act of kindness for someone in need,” said Major Peter Pemberton, Sacramento County Coordinator with The Salvation Army. “We’re thrilled and honored to be part of this initiative that brings communities together through the spirit of giving.”

$44 million to date

Since The Giving Machines launched in 2017, more than two million people have visited and donated over $44 million in goods and services. This year, the initiative expands to 131 cities across 21 countries, helping communities around the world.

The Giving Machines are part of the annual Light the World campaign, an initiative sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which distributes 100% of every contribution directly to the participating nonprofits. The Church covers all operational costs and receives no financial benefit from this effort.
