Santa Rosa, Calif.- Autumn has arrived with a fresh new season of programs and exhibitions at the Charles M. Schulz Museum. Events include a Veterans Day dedication ceremony, a visit from MUTTS cartoonist Patrick McDonnell, and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving 50th-anniversary celebration. Plus, revisit school memories with the Peanuts gang in the new exhibition It's Time for School, Charlie Brown!, now on view.

Homeschool Day: Snoopy in Orbit*
Explore the exhibition Snoopy in Orbit while learning about space through crafts and activities. Hear from NASA's Education Outreach Strategy Manager Patricia Moore (at 10:15 am) about NASA's return to the Moon and future missions to Mars; launch rockets with Robert Ferguson Observatory; explore radio communication with Sonoma County Radio Amateurs; make a nebula in a jar, and more. Museum Mondays for Little Ones: Happy Halloween, Charlie Brown*
Come in costume and trick-or-treat at the Schulz Museum! Make a goodie bag, explore a spooky sensory bin, create a pompom pumpkin patch, and watch It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (at 11:45 am, run time: 30 minutes). Designed for children ages 1-5 and their caregivers. Held on the last Monday of the month (excluding December). Register online or at the door. >>

Veterans Day Dedication and FREE Day
Enjoy free admission and special activities in honor of Veterans. At 11:00 am, join the plaque dedication ceremony in honor of Charles M. Schulz's WWII service in the 20th Armored Division, with the presentation of colors from the USCG Training Center Petaluma Honor Guard, performances by Maria Carillo High School jazz choir, special speakers, including Jean Schulz. At 11:30 am, look for military planes overhead, followed by a display of military vehicles and oral histories by the Pacific Coast Air Museum. Nation's Finest will also recognize local heroes for Veterans in a special celebration as part of their traveling community awareness program. >>

50 Years of A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving!
Celebrate with crafts, activities, and screenings of the movie on the big screen. Meet voice actors Todd Barbee (Charlie Brown) and Robin Kohn (Lucy Van Pelt). Create your own Snoopy-inspired Thanksgiving meal to-go with popcorn, pretzels, jellybeans, and toast; make a Snoopy chef's hat; collage thank you cards; and more. At 2:00 pm, Jason Mendelson of Lee Mendelson Film Productions will speak about the history of the animated special and its music. Bring food items to donate to Redwood Empire Food Bank and receive one free child's admission. >>

In 1988, Charles M. Schulz was freed of the restrictions of four equal panels for his daily comics. Ever after, his only constraint was the outer frame and he would frequently use the entire space to create one long single-panel comic. Discover how this creative freedom helped him explore a more expansive sense of place in the world of Peanuts. Features all original Peanuts comic strips from the Museum's collection.

The Beagle has landed at the Schulz Museum! Into space with NASA in the 1960s, aboard the International Space Station, and around the Moon as the zero-gravity indicator for the Artemis I mission-Snoopy has flown farther than any human astronaut. See the historic Snoopys, now safely home on Earth, alongside other never-before-exhibited space-flown Peanuts artifacts.

The Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center opened in 2002 to fulfill its mission of preserving, displaying, and interpreting the art of Charles M.
