$77,650 for Placer County Organizations

Roseville, Calif.- The United Auburn Indian Community (UAIC) announced today that it has awarded over $77,650 to community based organizations in Placer County in its final round of giving for 2013. This brings the 2013 total to $270,000.

“It is a privilege for the United Auburn Indian Community to be able to support so many worthy causes in our region,” said Gene Whitehouse, Chairman of UAIC. “The Community Giving Fund exists so that we can get help quickly to those organizations and causes that need it the most. Donations ranged between $2,500 and $5,000, which allows the funds to have the greatest impact possible in the community.”

The UAIC Community Giving Committee focuses its yearly grants on educational programs and social service organizations whose work significantly impacts struggling and underserved persons and families. During this most recent round of giving, funding was provided to support local and global aid relief efforts, education, counseling programs, and cultural organizations among others.

Over the course of nine years, the UAIC Community Giving Program has awarded over $10 million to nonprofit organizations supporting needs in education, health, arts and humanities, environment, community development and social services.
