Analysts: Worst Foreign Policy Decision in U.S. History

Roseville, Calif. – Gas prices are slowly moving down following the U.S. failure in the Middle East. Prices currently remain up about 48 percent from January lows of $3.29 in Roseville.

Most experts and analysts—outside of popular cable “news” shows that parrot and cheerlead administration misinformation at the expense of their audience —view the war as an overwhelming strategic defeat. The war has accumulated significant financial cost to U.S. taxpayers and at the cost of American servicemen’s lives, hundreds of casualties and billions in destruction to numerous American military bases and equipment.

Abject Failure

Despite massive damage inflicted across Iran, the United States failed to achieve every single stated war aim which includes unconditional surrender, regime change, no ballistic missiles, cease support for proxies, and no nuclear enrichment.

Iran can now close the Strait of Hormuz at will and the U.S. administration enters what analysts perceive as a subservient position with Iran gaining sanctions relief, free flow of oil, and a $300 billion economic development fund. Meanwhile, the U.S. administration continues to assert overwhelming victory. The extremely unpopular and unprovoked war delivered little more than death, chaos, and worldwide economic pain.

Local Impacts

Locally, Roseville consistently remains the low price leader in South Placer while Rocklin and Lincoln residents consistently pay higher energy costs across the board.

The lowest gas prices in South Placer are reliably found in Roseville. Typically, Costco and Sam’s Club which have remained consistent over the years with occasional exceptions and short term price wars. California imports a significant amount of its oil from the Middle East with Iraq accounting for 21 percent.
