District 4 Director Mike Lee has been elected by his fellow directors as 2008 chairman of the Placer County Water Agency Board of Directors.

A former longtime member of the Placer County Board of Supervisors, Lee is in his second four-year term on the water agency governing board.  He served a previous term as chairman in 2003.

Lee represents constituents in PCWA District 4 which includes Granite Bay, east Loomis and east Roseville.  He is a Project Manager in Lincoln for Placer Holdings.  Lee is a long-time active member of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce.  He was recently elected to serve in 2008 as President of the Lincoln Chamber.

Lee succeeds Lowell Jarvis, of District 3, who served as board chairman during 2007.  Otis Wollan of District 5 is the new 2008 vice chairman.

Wollan, who was first elected in 1987 and is the senior member of the Board of Directors, was recognized for 20 years of continuous service to the water agency.  Wollan is only the second Director to represent District 5.  He followed Ed Koster who served District 5 beginning in 1975.  Wollan has served as agency chairman in 1999 and 2004.  He was also elected at Thursday's meeting to serve as agency vice-chairman for 2008.

The election of officers took place Thursday (Dec. 20) at a regular meeting of the PCWA Board of Directors.

Also during the meeting outgoing board chairman Jarvis was recognized and presented with a plaque for his year of leadership as board chairman.
