At Hangtown Music Festival in Placerville during the last weekend of October, an unmistakable vibe permeates every corner of the El Dorado County Fairgrounds. It’s a wildly fun and social affair chock-full of music.

Embrace the Spirits
Halloween is a time for the truly free spirits to come alive and let loose. A much freer and more relaxed energy quickly settles as gregarious attendees and vendors set up camp among closely packed tents and RV’s. Although fans of all kinds are in attendance, this is a large contingent of the extended Deadhead family. Hangtown is an opportunity to make a few new friends while reconnecting with some familiar faces prior to the holidays and festival off-season.

Two Stages of Music
Throughout the 4-day weekend, a pair of stages alternate hosting bands without the overlap that often accompanies larger festivals. One of our favorite things about HMF, is its size. It’s a large enough festival to bring great acts and choice vendors with plenty of room to roam, all without sacrificing the close-knit community vibe. Kid Zone
A large, decorated area was creatively setup to entertain the younger generation with games, bubbles and play areas.
Fall Classic
In our experience, Hangtown Music Fest really does hit the sweet spot of festivals. For many of us, there is simply no better way to end the season and Hangtown Music Festival is a fall classic.
