Meeting increased need with compassion
Sacramento, Calif. – As communities prepare to gather around the Thanksgiving table, The Salvation Army is stepping forward to ensure every neighbor, regardless of circumstance, has access to a warm holiday meal, fellowship, and support.
In 2024 alone, The Salvation Army served 3.4 million meals across Northern California, a testament to its enduring commitment to meet human need wherever it exists.
This week, Salvation Army locations throughout the region will host Thanksgiving meals, distributions, and community gatherings designed to offer comfort, compassion, and connection. As economic hardships continue to rise, the need for food assistance and community support has grown significantly, making these annual events more vital than ever.
